Types of Water Tanks

Storage tanks are containers used to store liquids and gases. Tanks are often cylindrical in shape with round bottom and fixed roof. Storage tanks in UK and USA does not require pressure, thus making them different from other tanks. It is hence advisable to opt for these tanks to fulfil industrial purposes. If you are looking for a process plant machinery, then again these UK storage tanks are a good choice to make.

Types of tanks

  • Fixed roof tank: These tanks contain a cylindrical body with roof attached to it. They are vapour tight and perfect for storing gases.
  • External floating roof tank: This type of tank is equipped with a roof floating on the surface of stored water. The floating roof is made up of deck, fitting and run seal system.
  • Internal floating roof tank: This type of tank has two roofs the one which is attached with the container and the other one which has internal roof floating on the surface of stored water.
  • Horizontal tank: This type of tank is used for storing water both ground and underground. While making these types of tanks it is made sure that the diameter of container is not more than 6 times the length of the container.
  • LNG storage tank: These types of tanks are used to store liquified natural gas. It is also capable of storing natural gas up to the lowest temperature of -162 centigrade. These containers are of two types namely Internal part, which is used to store the liquified natural gas and the external part, made of an insulated material.
